Kushal

Journal Matching • Manuscript Refinement • Publication Navigation

When I first worked with Kushal, he was a high school senior at Memphis University School in Tennessee with a remarkable passion for public health and health equity. His commitment was already evident through his hands-on work with underserved rural communities in Northern Mississippi, including co-founding the Memphis Elderly Outreach Association and engaging with local health programs like the Delta Directions Program and the Aaron E. Henry Community Health Center.

Kushal’s academic and leadership achievements were equally outstanding—he completed eleven AP courses, captained his school’s fencing team, and earned admission to Stanford, Duke, Columbia, and the University of Pennsylvania. As he prepared to publish his first research article, I supported him in identifying a journal aligned with both his topic and academic level. Together, we tailored his work to the journal’s scope, refined the structure, and successfully navigated the submission and review process.

His article, “Barriers Towards Social Isolation and Neurodegenerative Disease for Geriatric Populations in Rural Mississippi,” was accepted by The Scholarly Review, marking a major milestone in his growing public health career.
