Ruslan

College Admissions Stratgy • Narrative Development • FAFSA Support

Ruslan’s mother reacher out to me to help prepare her son for college applications - they were new in the U.SA. and unaccustomed to this system or the language. Ruslan, he was a high school senior in Washington State and a first-generation immigrant from Kyrgyzstan. Deeply passionate about biology, physical therapy, and human movement—shaped by years of ballroom dance and fitness training—he brought a thoughtful and embodied understanding of wellness to his academic and personal narrative.

We worked together to highlight his unique story: his multicultural identity, his family's immigration journey, and his commitment to health and healing. I supported Ruslan in developing a compelling personal narrative, completing the SOPHAS system, and navigating FAFSA and the FAFSA appeal process. We also met in person for a personalized campus tour of the University of Washington (UW).

Ruslan was accepted to all eight universities he applied to and received a full scholarship at UW, where he is now studying biology and health sciences.
